Imperfection and connection!

We all yearn for connection - whether it is to be connected to ourselves, our creativity, our bodies, our deep inner world, to others or to a bigger power.
The key to self connection is kindness and a willingness to be with what is. I have to welcome myself fully to be really present. I have to say "YES" to myself. As long as one part of me is fighting against another, there is a duality and conflict inside of myself and part of my energy is locked up dealing with that conflict.
 
When I feel deeply connected to myself, I feel home, I feel present, I know that I am ok, no matter what is happening, even if I die. Somehow there is a deeper "Hum" a deeper rhythm at the core, that starts to carry me. When I feel connected to myself, I often also feel really connected to my resources: to joy, wonder, creativity and curiosity.
 
Sometimes it is hard and almost unimaginable to say "yes" to all parts of me... to those gremlins that live in my mind. But also that is a life long practice. We don't have to master this right away either... We can relax, knowing that all of us are imperfect. This comes with being human. 
 
If I am present, then there is no disconnection. If I say "yes" to myself, also to my imperfection, I can invite connection. I find that If I don't say "yes" to myself I am not present, part of my awareness is locked up in fighting with myself and I start to need others to make me feel o.k.. Then I don't invite connection but expect it, and the dance cannot come out of freedom and the creative space. If I am present in my "yes" to myself ( warts and all), there are always people out there on the dance floor to dance with - who can be imperfect too (hooray how fun!). They might be on the other side of the studio. They might be dancing at or with the wall. They might be just next to me. I just have to be there and welcome it all... then a dance can develop.... a dance that comes out of no expectation - a dance that comes from freedom and creativity....out of imperfection!
 
I am looking forward to seeing all of you on the dance floor - with all those lovable imperfections. The Core Connexion dance floor and I welcome them all!
