Nature is so much more creative than we humans can imagine...

 Dear Ones

we are back from our time in Hawaii! It is always a very intense and humbling time for me to be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, being so exposed to the natural forces. And what a beauty!

Nature is always so much more creative than we as humans could be. And her creations are universal too. Each of us understands what a wave is, what a heart beat is, a breath, wind, water, earth, the sun, the sky. We all know what movement is and also stillness. There might be people on this earth who have not seen a tree or a flower in real life, or the ocean, or snow. But we all know the basics. It is a visceral thing. And we know these basics beyond conscious thought. We know them through sensation, touch and movement - the universal languages.

Being able to travel and experience different parts of this planet I am always amazed what nature comes up with - the creativity of life is endless.

In Hawaii the ocean has different blues than in California. It is the same water, but different color, temperature, texture. The birds here have specific songs, specific to their species. (We call some of them jokingly "the screaming chickens", as we have not found out their real names yet.) When we hear those birds, we know that we are on Hawaii. The uniqueness of nature at different places is like a map for us. Traveling to California we hear the bird songs there: the owls, in Germany we listen to the nightingales at night. It is all so unique and beautiful in its own way. Nothing is comparable, as everything is so unique.

And of course there are the people here in Hawaii too who sit at the ocean, playing around with their I-phones the whole day. They miss the turtles, the jumping whales, the surfers, the waves, the clouds, the crabs, the monk seals...

I am so glad that I can still be in wonder and marvel about these things. Life is too short to not be in awe!

And at the same time I am in awe each week, when I stand or move on the dance floor, and I get to witness the unique nature of the participants in my classes. Each of you is so unique, only nature could have come up with that. Although we are all mammals - human mammals - we are and express ourselves all so different and in unique and beautiful ways. I celebrate each of you as a wonderful natural creation.

In our sessions I always invite people to get in touch with the universal language of sensation, of breath and pulse, of movement and stillness. Connecting with those levels of our experience and consciousness, we can sink more deeply into ourselves and towards our inner nature, our core.

Each time I start a sensing and moving process for myself, I am still amazed - I have been doing this for over 20 years now - and still, no dance has ever been the same. My body never feels the same either. The impulse to move always comes from somewhere different. I just have to listen. Nature always has something interesting in stock for me. Actually, the longer as I am doing this, the more I am experiencing... the more interesting it gets. The deeper I go there are always more universes to explore.

Self-Love: Feel the artistry
moving through, and be silent….Rumi (January 2012)

Doing a practice of self-love over the last 2 weeks has of course also highlighted all those times and places where I do not apply self love automatically. I have found lots of little pockets of fear of experiencing the moment. I pull up my shoulders, stop breathing: just to stop life a little bit, so that I do not have to feel it all so intensely. Or I run around like crazy, doing things, keeping busy, so that I don't have to see and hear the truth inside of myself. But why do I do that?

What Gravity has to do with Dr. Bronner's magic Soap - December 2011

 Gravity is working against me

And gravity wants to bring me down
(John Mayer's song: "Gravity")

Somehow gravity seems to have increased lately. The days are really getting short. I've been feeling dark and kind of heavy lately. Just the reality of things, the reality of life. Heavy. Well, how do we dance with darkness? How do we dance in the dark when it is heavy? How do we stay with it, when we much rather be light?

I like what the native Americans say: "You have two companions with you all your life: One is death and the other is destiny." There are things in life that we cannot change. Sometimes it gets heavy and sometimes dark. How can we dance with it?

Luminous Connections - January 2012

Relationship is the most vigorous of all spiritual practices I think.

Lately my mantra has been: "How can I be autonomous and connected?"

Researchers found out that when humans feel connected to other humans (this works with pets too to a certain extend) our fear, loneliness, isolation and pain level goes down. On the other hand we can be around lots of people that we usually get along with and feel totally lonely and disconnected. It is not just the proximity of people, but it is more a presence and an opening of the heart and letting ourselves feel that amazing capacity to let somebody in or be seen and shared. If we are disconnected it is very painful.

Keys to Aliveness – Re-inhabiting the body 1, March 2012

“When we listen attentively there is neither agreement or disagreement; we are just in a state of attention”.   J. Krishnamurti

Looking forward to dancing and listening to the body, the breath and the dance tonight! As most of you might have noticed and experienced, Core Connexion is for those of us who like to make a deeper connection to life, their bodies and their core through connecting to the body and movement. Our foundation is kindness and acceptance. But we all need courage to listen and move with what is emerging in any moment.

Deep listening to the body really has saved my life and sanity during the last few weeks.

Without the physical pain I was experiencing the last 8 weeks I probably would never have embarked onto this bigger journey of listening to and healing a whole part of my body and my history and the history of my gender. Anything can be a door to the soul’s journey, anything can be a key to aliveness... sometimes we just have to listen a bit more closely and intensely.

Beginnings, Endings and Breathing Spaces, March 2012

I am sitting here at the shore of Lake Constance in Germany and the winter is ending here. After a very, very cold February, March is coming in with warmth, sun and little flowers and buds everywhere. What a great feeling this spring time feeling is… it is a new beginning for nature, a new spirit, a new cycle.

Last week I started the first module of our Core Connexion Training here in Europe – also a new beginning. “Each beginning has some magic in it…”, Goethe (a German writer) says… and I think that is absolutely true. But each new beginning is always up against a huge amount of resistance as well.

I noticed with this new group, where people did not know each other yet and some had not taken any deeper workshops with me before…There was a lot of resistance and fear towards the new. As the group here is a very international one – at least three languages are going on at the same time, sometimes even four – there was a lot

A dance is born (January 31st, 2012)

I see each of us as incarnated dances....A dance is born, each time one of us is born... Dancing alone or with each other at our practice lets us remember this dance, this unique expression of the "ONE", that dances through us. (I hope this does not sound cheesy, but it feels exactly that way) When we grow up, it is like a seed growing into a plant or a spark growing into a big fire, that can develop throughout our lives. Each dance it is uniquely beautiful for each of us.

Thank you for being part of the journey and making my life so rich with beauty!

It has been my pleasure and intention to hold the space for you. I intend this to be a space where each of us remember our unique, true and beautiful dance - all in your own time!

Let's grow courage! ( 1/15/2012)

Thank you for your loving thoughts and compassion. I am so glad that my story from last week has found resonance with many of you. The journey continues. I am actually doing quite fine. It looks like I don't need any surgery at this point - what I need now (and highly recommend this) is this radical practice of unconditional self-love.

On "sick" body parts, self love and community (1/8/2012)

2012 has started in a very potent way for me. I like challenges though. They keep me present in the moment, humble, going with my personal creative and awareness practice and help me to rise to the occasion. This one is a success story. And it has to do with our Core Connexion dance practice.

Last week I learnt at a doctor's appointment, that there might be more "wrong" with my body, than I thought. Nothing that is dangerous to my life, just to the quality of my life. The doctor even said, that I might have to lose an organ.

We had our Core Connexion practice the same night (thank goodness) with the theme of inviting all parts of our body into the dance. Facilitating a class is my practice of being present and open to the co-creation of the group field and in the room and the universal energy field. I become present with my body, myself and the group energy, composing the session according to the energy of that night, and I actually get to dance within that group field too. (I know I have a fabulous job!!!)  ...

Gratitude, brain science and what turkeys have to do with relaxing...

Another year, another Thanksgiving day!

What shall I say? I have been getting at least 15 messages over facebook from all kinds of dance or yoga related events that are celebrating "gratitude this week". It is a wonderful topic and there is a lot to be thankful for and we will get into that later.
