Being able to travel and experience different parts of this planet I am always amazed what nature comes up with - the creativity of life is endless.
In Hawaii the ocean has different blues than in California. It is the same water, but different color, temperature, texture. The birds here have specific songs, specific to their species. (We call some of them jokingly "the screaming chickens", as we have not found out their real names yet.) When we hear those birds, we know that we are on Hawaii. The uniqueness of nature at different places is like a map for us. Traveling to California we hear the bird songs there: the owls, in Germany we listen to the nightingales at night. It is all so unique and beautiful in its own way. Nothing is comparable, as everything is so unique.
And of course there are the people here in Hawaii too who sit at the ocean, playing around with their I-phones the whole day. They miss the turtles, the jumping whales, the surfers, the waves, the clouds, the crabs, the monk seals...
I am so glad that I can still be in wonder and marvel about these things. Life is too short to not be in awe!
And at the same time I am in awe each week, when I stand or move on the dance floor, and I get to witness the unique nature of the participants in my classes. Each of you is so unique, only nature could have come up with that. Although we are all mammals - human mammals - we are and express ourselves all so different and in unique and beautiful ways. I celebrate each of you as a wonderful natural creation.
In our sessions I always invite people to get in touch with the universal language of sensation, of breath and pulse, of movement and stillness. Connecting with those levels of our experience and consciousness, we can sink more deeply into ourselves and towards our inner nature, our core.
Each time I start a sensing and moving process for myself, I am still amazed - I have been doing this for over 20 years now - and still, no dance has ever been the same. My body never feels the same either. The impulse to move always comes from somewhere different. I just have to listen. Nature always has something interesting in stock for me. Actually, the longer as I am doing this, the more I am experiencing... the more interesting it gets. The deeper I go there are always more universes to explore.
